With a daily trip on public transportation becoming part of my routine, there are certain idiosyncracies that I have to deal with. Getting bumped in the back by someone's bag, that sweaty, after-work armpit in my face, and the occasional bus scuffle.
There's one fight in particular that seems to happen frequently around here, and it never fails to bring a smile to my face. The scenario: woman carrying bag walks on to crowded bus; man offers his seat; she refuses. The other day I saw a woman physically force a man back into his seat. They both got a kick out of the situation, and the rest of us work-weary comuters enjoyed the entertainment.
It's amazing how such a small gesture of sincerity can be so inspirational. It's a fight I can't wait to have.

Hmmm, getting bumped in the back with a bag... jeah i know that one, the bag is exchangable for bamboo, brooms, ellbow and ... jeah... goat (!) in my case. i can furthermore relate to the afterwork armpit, very much indeed, and the tropical climate adds something. I can even relate to the carrying bags, and even more to the crowded bus... I am just lacking the man that gets up to offer me the seat. That would bring the hell of a smile to my face...
