Batman Ends

Four of us unfortunate souls were lured last night by the curiosity to see the next instalment of the Batman saga. It was directed by Christopher Nolan (the guy who did Memento) and promised to be quite good. Besides, all the reviews were really positive.

That is the last time I ever trust a movie review from the Times. I can't remember the last time I looked at my watch that much during a movie. The plot was dismal, the acting was hideous, the dialogue was painful, the special effects were unimpressive, and the fight scenes made me dizzy and confused.

Christian Bale got something stuck in his throat about halfway through the movie, and it was horrible to listen to him choke out his awful lines after that. I wouldn't waste your time with this one, even after it comes out on video. I can only hope that this prequel will mark the end of our caped crusader. Or at least this directing/acting team.
