It's Lama, not llama

Today, some of the GSP had an opportunity to have an audience with His Holiness the Dalai Lama. I was among the ones that were wise enough to attend.

It was an audience of about 400. Not tiny, but intimate when compared to the crowds he usually pulls in (It certainly isn't Richard Gere who's that popular). He was there to view the South Asian premiere of a fil-im made about his life.

The speeches were dry and to-the-point, and the film was not terribly good. However, it was good to get a 60-minute biography before the man spoke.

Prior to going, Physics had told me about seeing the Dalai Lama in McLeod Ganj. He talked of an "aura" of lightness that I cleverly dismissed ass well-placed stage lighting. After seeing him this morning, I would have to agree. From the moment he stood up to speak to the moment he walked right in front of me, I was in rapture. He is funny, humble, and absolutely captivating.

This is one of those opportunities that I'm sure will be much bigger later in my life, when I think back on the greatness of the moment.
