I'm enjoying my time back in the blog-o-sphere, and I've decided that it is good for my education. I RSS more than 5 different news sources every day, and keep busy scanning headlines. Today, I re-discovered a word to reintroduce into my vocabulary: ves·tig·i·al (v-stj-l, -stjl) adj.
1. Of, relating to, or constituting a vestige.
2. Biology. Occurring or persisting as a rudimentary or degenerate structure. It seems like it will be a useful word, given my current opinion on some things. (Read: academia).
While we're on the word, check out the Top 10 Vestigial Organs in the animal kingdom. I especially like #8, #6, and #3.
