Not quite ready to declare "I told you so" yet, but THIS article sure makes me sound right.
I especially like: With many polls showing the candidates in a statistical tie, the influx of millions of new voters is a wildcard, and tea leaf readers make predictions at their peril, some seasoned analysts warn.
But Charles E. Cook Jr., editor of the nonpartisan Cook Political Report, said he sees turnout heading 'through the roof' and believes that would probably help Democratic challenger John F. Kerry at the expense of President Bush.
'I'm sitting in Texas and talked to a guy who waited 35 minutes to vote today in San Antonio,' Cook said in an interview Tuesday. 'A vote couldn't count any less than it does here,' in Bush's home state, he said, 'and there's massive early voting.'
Few doubt that this bitter, epic struggle between Bush and Kerry will result in a flood of voters at polling places next week. If nothing else, at least I'll be right about that!
