Declaration Day

14 days to the US's second undemocratic election. This is also known as "declaration day," the day two weeks before the election where I try and use my minimal clairvoyant skills to call the election. This year is a bit more dangerous, as I am actually putting it down in writing.

So here's my call: It will all come down to fabulous Wisconsin this time around, and Kerry will carry the election (JFK, how could he not?)

And here's my theory: Surprising voter turnouts and shock voter engagements usually swing to the side of the Dems. The stuffy GOP is always so predictable. This time around, a number of surprising things have happened: the debates were watched by twice as many people as expected, people are registering in larger numbers and earlier than ever before, and new grassroots Internet mobilization campaigns have changed the shape of electoral politics forever. Likewise, Election Day will be a shocker. All those disenfranchsied progressives from sunny Florida will run out to the polls first thing in the morning, and from exit poll time onwards, the election will swing Kerry.

Call it a bit of optimism or my third eye. It will happen, just wait and see.

If you are wrong, I am in trouble!!
My hopes are now up as before they were not, and I am not sure how I will be able to rebound from such disappointment!! Yours is the first real hope I have dared to have. If GWASSHOLE wins this election, I may join you in another country. Not really, but It sounds good and I will be that disheartened. I just can't see how sooooooooooooo many people can so stupid they can overlook what this has done to democracy around the world. Who wants it if GWDICTATOR can get away with what he has and have the people's support. Once bitten, twice shy! If we reelect him, we are as responsible for what we are doing around the world as he is!!
