It's rare that I offer a movie review. Usually, I like to hear what other people have to say first. Then again, I rarely threaten to go see a movie again immediately after leaving the theater.
I saw "Shrek 2" last night, and I don't remember the last time I laughed so hard. The writing was amazing, and I will be praising Mike Meyers' comedic genius for weeks. In rare Hollywood form, I can easily say that the sequel outpaced the original.
The timing was perfect, the jokes never stopped coming, and what could have been a tired and recycled plot was fun, interesting, and full of new twists. It definitely was not just a movie for kids. It boasts an all-star cast including Jennifer Saunders (hilarious co-creator of AbFab) and Julie Andrews, not to mention Rupert Everett and Larry King (don't miss this one). You must see it! Immediately!
(Unless you were planning to see Fahrenheit 9/11 first, that's a priority)
