Arrivederci Roma

We left Rome today. Now that we're gone, I can say that the weather was perfect the entire time we were there. It rained a few times at night and then today as we were leaving, but otherwise it was sunny and warm for our entire stay. Thanks Roma!

The funny story for the day: Mom was stopped on the way through the airport security checkpoint and they started unpacking her bag and asking if she had any crystal, which may have set off a sensor. Dad walked over and thought they were asking her if she had a "pistol." So here's mom, having her bag searched by security, and dad standing behind her going, "Robbie, do you have a pistol? Did they ask for your pistol?" I'm surprised they didn't both end up in Italian prison! But we made it on the plane. We got back into Bad Krozingen at nearly 02.00. Tiredness.

Lovely, Mark, glad you're back. I love your parents. "Do you have a pistol?" indeed.

Because you won't get your birthday card on time, happy early birthday. You only get better every year. (And having known you for more than half of your life I feel secure saying that.)
