TGIF

A piece of information that surprised me a little bit: did you know that there is actually a TGI Friday's restaurant in Dehli? I guess the effects of globalization truly cannot be ignored.

But honestly, I can tell I am going to enjoy Fridays here in Freiburg (the day, not the restaurant). It was sunny and warm, and we were free for the weekend. After class, a group of us (Dominik, Ilka, Judith, Scott, Karuna, Keti and I) went to the two-Euro pizza place that I'm guessing will become a main staple of my diet. Some advice for ordering pizza in Germany from Scott: if you order "pepperoni" you'll get peppers, not salami. Oops.

After lunch, we climbed up the Schlossberg again, only this time it was too warm not too cold. From the top of the spire we could easily see all the way across to Kaiserstuhl and France. There were still snowcapped mountains nearby, and the city seemed so quiet from up there. The mountains are getting so green, I can't imagine why they call it the Black Forest.

I'm planning to head back into Freiburg tonight to experience some of the nightlife. Disco shoes are fired up and ready to go.
